Rigger boots are sturdy leather pull on boots, which owe their name to their origin, as they were standard fare for most rig workers in the north seas. Up until recently they have been very popular in many workplaces, but due to safety concerns, most foremen/site managers won't allow workers to wear them as they do not provide adequate ankle support and insist on safety boots or equivalent en 345 safety footwear.
